Treating Migraines Shamanically

In this article I discuss successfully removing a migraine using the Shamanic technique of negative energy release.

suffering with a migraineBackground: M, a woman in her early 50’s suffers very severe migraines on a regular basis. Often lasting for several days, the migraines significantly affect her quality of life.

Timing: The shamanic healing was performed at the onset of the migraine – a few hours after the first familiar symptoms (dizziness, neck ache, loss of mental clarity) began to appear.

Treatment: I begin by asking M to lay on her back in front of me, to close her eyes and relax. I use the Shamanic drum to call in Spirit and change the energetic vibration that surrounds us. The drum brings relaxation and peace, at the same time I ask for the energies of spirit to flow through me as I place my hand on M’s head. I feel the energy pass through me into into M, gently soothing and calming the spiky and dark grey migraine energy.

Shamanic healing (migraine)After 15 minutes or so as the healing energy continues to calm and flow I suddenly become aware of the energetic presence of a man in his 20’s. He has long black hair and a straggley beard. He wears a long blue trench coat. He is angry and will not listen to anyone. He can not be reasoned with and angrily gesticulates and shouts away all my attempts to communicate with him. This man is the energetic representation of M’s migraine. I know that by separating and releasing this negative energy attachment from M and sending it back into the love of cosmic consciousness, M will be free from her migraines.

I position the blue vortex above M and feel a large part of the migraine energy detach from M and disappear into the vortex. However, there is a root that remains and will not be moved into the vortex. To remove this final piece I am guided to shamanically suck the root out from M using my mouth. I do this successfully but of course I now have the root in my mouth and need to dispose of it. I rise to my feet and quickly blow this energy out into nature instructing it to return to love. I immediately close all the windows in the room where the treatment took place so the energy can not return. 20 minutes or so later I know that the energy has left us and returned to One Consciousness.

What is Salvia Divinorum ?

Salvia Divinorum herbSalvia Divinorum, otherwise known as ‘Sage of the Diviners’, ‘Ska Maria Pastora’, ‘Seer’s Sage’ and ‘Salvia’ is a herb that is gathering quite a repuation in healing circles.

Of course there are many scare stories in the media about the “reckless and irresponsible” use of the psychoactive plant, but what we don’t hear much about is the amazing medical potential the plant has.

So what do we know for sure about Salvia?

  • It’s a rare member of the mint family.
  • Its native habitat is in cloud forest in the isolated Sierra Mazateca of Oaxaca, Mexico.
  • It was commonly used by the Mazatec Indians medicinally for the management of headaches, diarrhea, rheumatism and anemia.
  • The main active ingredient in salvia, salvinorin A, is a potent activator of nerve cell targets called kappa opioid receptors.
  • The dried leaves of Salvia Divinorum can be smoked as a joint, consumed in water pipes, or vaporized and inhaled.

There are no large pharmaceutical corporations funding the research into salvia, so unfortunately, studies and research do not come quickly. Big pharma corporations refuse to fund research into natural substances like herbal medicines because natural substances cannot be patented. If you can’t patent a product they can’t make any profit from it and it may eventually compete with their patented drug monopolies.

However, Professor Bryan Roth, director of the National Institute of Mental Health’s Psychoactive Drug Screening Program said: “We think that drugs derived from the active ingredient could be useful for a range of diseases: Alzheimer’s, depression, schizophrenia, chronic pain and even AIDS or HIV.”

According to Dr. Karl R. Hanes, Ph.D, Salvia Divinorum has proved to be very useful in treating the depressions of his patients. The herb was beneficial in relieving 5 out of 6 patients of their depression; but his studies were forcibly ceased when the herb was made illegal in his homeland of Australia.

A survey of salvia users found that 38% described the effects as unique in comparison to other methods of altering consciousness. 23% said the effects were like yoga, meditation or trance.

Researchers from the University of California and California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute conducted a survey of 500 Salvia users which identified they ‘sometimes or often’ experience certain effects, as shown below.

There is so much to learn about Salvia, but so little research taking place. Hopefully the full potential of this plant is looked into and harnessed before it’s made illegal before Big Pharma forces governments to ban it.

Transforming Pain

embrace your painOne of the many parts of shamanic practice is the treatment of pain. The Western medicine approach to pain is that it is something to retreat from – to numb out of existence and then carry on life as normal. Of course, this method means that the pain and the cause of the pain are never truly dealt with. Instead they are just masked and the sufferer is fooled into thinking that the problem has gone away – the internal conversation they have with their self goes like this: “If I no longer feel the pain then there is no pain, I am therefore 100% healthy and everything is back to normal and working in perfect order”.

Now think about this question: What is the reason for pain?
Pain is an energetic manifestation that communicates an important message to us. It is using the sensation of discomfort to tell us that something isn’t right and needs healing. How absurd it is then that we take a pill to make the pain go away and forget about the problem. It’s like someone knocking at your front door telling you your house is on fire and you saying thanks very much but you’ve got a more important TV programme that you’re halfway through watching and you really want to get back to it.

The shamanic approach to pain is to embrace it. Pain is after all, just another sensation, albeit an uncomfortable one. By embracing pain you come to know it and more importantly you come to understand it. You can talk to your pain and ask it questions. You can ask it why it is manifesting in your physical body. You can also ask it what you need to do in order to heal the situation causing the discomfort. What I’ve written here may sound ludicrous to you, but ask yourself why do you consider it ludicrous? The answer is because your mind has been indoctrinated to believe that such things are ridiculous and impossible. They’re not. Change your thinking and you will change your life. Try it. It works.

Soul Eaters

soul eaterChild abuse interferes with and ultimately destroys a child’s energy, their energetic flow and vibrational uniqueness. If the abuse persists for long enough the victim’s energy flow will eventually be destroyed causing them to break down and stop functioning.

There is an energetic exchange during child abuse where the abuser takes the power (the ‘life force’ if you will) of the child. It’s not just the child’s energy that is taken, the abuse interferes with the child’s vibration and their ability to replace and regenerate their own power too, until all that’s left of the abused child is a shell – hence above I described these abusers as ‘Soul Eaters’.

The power taken from the abused passes to the abuser and remains with them, even after the abuse has taken place. The abuser is able to use the child’s stolen energy as they choose.

The abused child continues to hold their damaged vibration until they take their power back in some way (which is very difficult for them to do if they are broken), or get their power from an alternative source (is this why some of those abused later become abusers themselves?).

Child abuse is a very potent form of energy stealing: not only are young children unable to fight back and therefore easier to abuse. The energy taken from young children is ‘cleaner’ and more ‘pure’ too.
